Charting the map in collaboration (even if we have to turn the map upside down to or make the world flat again to get there). As yousual your timing is uncanny… Geekspin and I were just discussing the Web 2.0 bubble… The fearless have forged ahead and bought companies without a sustainable business model, scary! Nonetheless, we’re all the better for their ventures to the edge (where people thought no profit existed)!
Yes, there will be casualties, but that’s the risk of progress.

Yes, we live in exciting times and watching it all unfold is facinating. We have to be cautious about getting swept away in the wave of optimism.
All this beautiful innovation can be dangerous if used to the wrong ends. Look at yahoo for example, they’re set to become the poster boys of the web 2.0 era thanks to their ownership of sites like flickr, del.icio.us and upcoming.org. I use those sites extensively and will probably mash them up just like everyone else. But Yahoo! China has been the most helpful in helping the Chinese government track down ‘dissidents’, some of which have been sent to their death. Google (although were forced) now co-operate with the Brazilian police and provide giving them access orkut information. Myspace is used extensive by American police.
We need to be carefull and not just focus on the great potencial that lies in the technology but keep and eye out for the potencial for abuse and do about best to minimize that.
Wow, I hope that does not come across as totally negative. I totally subscribe to Douglas Rushkoff’s idea of a new renaisance and that’s the kinda future I’d like to see.

- какая программа умеет рассылать персональные сообщения всем пользователям форумов phpBB, IPB, VBulletin?
- какая программа отсортирует Вашу базу ссылок по Google PageRank?
- какая программа МАССОВО отредактирует все Ваши ранее разосланные объявления по форумам?
- и при этом еще регулярно обновляется и совершенствуется.
